    Practical Priorities for District 1

Zachary deserves the ambition and opportunity of a growing city while preserving the relationships, character, and community spirit that make it special.

Big City Spirit. Small Town Soul.

    Priority 1

    Safer Neighborhoods

Support adequately equipped police, fire, and emergency services, and strengthen the connection between residents and public-safety agencies.

    • Support adequately equipped police, fire, and emergency services
    • Improve communication between residents and public-safety agencies
    • Encourage neighborhood partnerships and prevention
    • Strengthen emergency and storm preparedness

    What City Council Can Do

A City Council representative helps shape the city budget, oversees public-safety funding, supports partnerships with parish and state agencies, and provides constituent service. Kendrick will use these tools to advocate for well-resourced departments, transparent oversight, and stronger communication — not to promise outcomes that require authority beyond the council's role.

    Priority 2

    Roads, Drainage & Infrastructure

Address recurring infrastructure concerns with long-term planning, not temporary fixes.

    • Address roads and recurring infrastructure concerns
    • Improve drainage and stormwater planning
    • Pursue parish, state, and federal partnerships
    • Communicate project priorities, status, and timelines to residents
    • Support long-term planning rather than temporary fixes

    What City Council Can Do

The council can prioritize infrastructure in the budget, support planning studies, advocate for grant funding and intergovernmental partnerships, and keep residents informed about project timelines. Not every road or drainage issue can be fixed immediately, but Kendrick will work to make steady, transparent progress.

    Priority 3

    Local Business & Economic Opportunity

More Local Choices and Economic Opportunity — supporting existing businesses and responsibly attracting new ones.

    • Support existing Zachary businesses
    • Improve communication between local government and business owners
    • Responsibly attract restaurants, retail, recreation, and entertainment
    • Reduce unnecessary friction for entrepreneurs where local government has authority
    • Encourage development that benefits residents while preserving Zachary's character

    What City Council Can Do

The council can support policies that reduce unnecessary barriers for local businesses, help coordinate communication between city government and business owners, and encourage development that fits Zachary's character. Kendrick will advocate for growth that benefits residents — not development at any cost.

    Priority 4

    Youth, Families & Recreation

Expand partnerships and opportunities that help young people and families thrive.

    • Support partnerships for mentoring and after-school activities
    • Strengthen recreation and youth-development opportunities
    • Connect schools, nonprofits, churches, coaches, and community organizations
    • Create more ways for young people to develop leadership, discipline, and confidence

    What City Council Can Do

The council can support recreation funding, help connect community organizations with resources, and champion partnerships between schools, churches, nonprofits, and coaches. Kendrick will work to expand opportunities for young people across District 1.

    Reducing Risk and Strengthening Resilience

Kendrick's insurance experience gives him a practical understanding of how drainage, flood exposure, preparedness, building conditions, and infrastructure affect families and businesses.

On the City Council, he will advocate for responsible flood-mitigation planning, stronger drainage infrastructure, better preparedness, and partnerships that can reduce community risk and support long-term insurance affordability.

Kendrick will not promise to lower your insurance rates. Instead, he will advocate for infrastructure, drainage, and preparedness improvements that may reduce risk and support long-term affordability.
